2014 Slamdance Alum ‘I Put a Hit on You’ Opens @ Royal Cinema

TORONTO – After a successful festival run in 2014 including a premiere at Slamdance, Canadian film I Put a Hit On You has its exclusive theatrical opening at Toronto’s iconic The Royal Cinema on Friday, January 9, 2015.

This darkly comedic, lo-fi romantic thriller stars Sara Canning (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Remedy”) and Aaron Ashmore (“Smallville,” “Warehouse 13”) and is the feature directorial debut of married couple Dane Clark (Old Stock, Long Branch, Margo Lily) and Linsey Stewart (Long Branch, Margo Lily).

After her marriage proposal to Ray (Ashmore) is awkwardly rejected, Harper (Canning) gets really drunk and posts an ad online offering to trade her engagement ring for Ray’s death. When someone replies, Harper confesses to Ray. Now she and Ray must deal with the ensuing chaos, all while confronting the downfall of their relationship and preparing for a hit man to arrive.

I Put a Hit On You is produced by Mike MacMillan (Lithium Studios Productions) and Jordan Gross (Dark Hope Entertainment), who Clark and Stewart collaborated with for short films Long Branch and Margo Lily.

In addition to its premiere at Slamdance, I Put a Hit On You screened at The Chicago Critics Film festival and Whistler International Film Festival.
