TORONTO | MONTREAL – “Today we are very proud to reveal the nominees for the 2015 CANADIAN SCREEN AWARDS,” says Helga Stephenson, CEO, Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television (ACCT).

“2014 was an exceptionally competitive year for Canadian film, television & digital media,” Stephenson adds. “The Academy received a record number of Canadian Screen Awards submissions, which is also a good sign for the industry.”

CSA nominations in 128 categories (24 in film, 97 in television and 7 in digital media) were announced today at simultaneous press conferences in Toronto and Montreal and via live webcast on the Academy’s new FanZone website, launched today.

“Congratulations to all our 2015 Canadian Screen Awards nominees,” says Stephenson. “We’re looking forward to a great year with a brand new production team spotlighting stories about our country’s best talent in a bold new way,” she adds.

Cimoroni & Company and Rick Chisholm, co-producers of this year’s Canadian Screen Awards, also produced the new 2015 CSA Trailer, launched today, that will play in both French and English on approximately 2,800 cinema screens nationwide.

The Academy’s Canadian Screen Week features ten events in seven days, beginning February 23 and culminating with the Canadian Screen Awards Broadcast on CBC, live from the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto, on March 1, 2015, at 8pm (8:30 NT).

2015 Canadian Screen Awards presenters, additional Academy Special Awards and details of Canadian Screen Week events will also be announced in the coming weeks.
