Alliance Française French Film Festival 15 – SAMBA

Will be Closing Night Film in all locations. Check below for more specifics on location & date.

Samba is the new moving, funny and inspirational dramatic comedy from the celebrated directors of The Intouchables, which Variety Magazine says “cements Omar Sy’s position as one of France’s most magnetic screen personalities.”

Samba Cissé (Omar Sy), a Senegalese man who has been living in Paris for 10 years, gets by doing odd jobs. Alice (played by the stunning Charlotte Gainsbourg) is a high-level businesswoman suffering from a burnout. He has been doing everything he can to get his French identity papers, while she is trying to pull herself together by doing volunteer work for an immigrant association. Both are trying to find a way out of the rut they are in, until the day their paths cross. A beautiful mix of humour and emotion, Samba is a tale of friendship, love and finding one’s true identity.

The film features an outstanding cast of some of France’s most influential actors, including excellent supporting performances from The Past’s Tahar Rahim and musician-turned-actress Izïa Higelin.
