Call for Entries – Reel Asian International Film Festival & Staff Change

The Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival (Reel Asian), is delighted to announce that Kristine Estomninos and Hema Ramsingh have joined the Reel Asian team.

Kristine Estorninos, formerly of the award-winning Canadian company Ouat Media, will be the organization’s new Head of Programming. Working closely with Director of Programming & Education Aram Collier, as well as a Toronto-based programming committee and a team of international programming associates, the Head of Programming will help shape the artistic vision and future direction of the organization by delivering a dynamic and diverse programme to continue presenting the best of Asian cinema at the November festival and year-round events.

Hema Ramsingh will be joining Reel Asian as the Director of Marketing and brings with her over 10 years of marketing and brand strategy experience including previous roles at Corus Entertainment, Astral Television, and Disney. Hema was also a member of Reel Asian’s volunteer Marketing Committee in 2013. She will be responsible for overseeing marketing, publicity and outreach strategies to increase Reel Asian’s festival attendance and brand awareness.

Reel Asian also announces its Call for Submissions in all categories, including short and feature length films. Submission period begins March 3, 2014. Online submission forms can be found at www.reelasian.com. We welcome new film and video submissions by and/or about East/South/Southeast Asians from around the world, including North America. Submissions received after the early bird deadline (April 30, 2014) require a CAD $20 submission fee.

The Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival (Reel Asian) is Canada’s largest pan-Asian film festival showcasing films and videos by Asian artists from Canada, US and around the world. This year’s festival takes place November 6 – 16, 2014 in downtown Toronto and Richmond Hill.
