Love Is All You Need

Pierce Brosnan and Trine Dyrholm star in Susanne Bier’s Love Is All You Need (Den skaldede frisør), a romantic comedy about the pains and joys of moving on (and forward) with your life.

Philip (Brosnan) and Ida (Dyrholm) live in Denmark. He’s a lonely widower, at odds with his son. She’s recuperating from a long illness, only to discover that her husband has left her for younger woman. These two bruised souls are about to intertwine, when they arrive in Sorrento, Italy, to attend the wedding of his son and her daughter. Ironically, it’s Philip and Ida who step up when the young couple’s future is suddenly jeopardized.

Set against an old villa, among lemon groves and cypress trees, the film is directed by Denmark’s Susanne Bier and written by Anders Thomas Jensen, the same team behind In a Better World (2011 Academy Award winner), based on a story by both.

The film is in Danish and English with English subtitles and is being released in Canada by Mongrel Media.
