European cinema in South Korea: Directors and sales agents promote new films at Pusan International Film Festival

Coming from as far apart as Iceland and Poland, Sweden and Portugal, 26 directors and actors will be present at the 15th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF, October 7-15) in South Korea with the support of European Film Promotion (EFP) and its member organisations to open a window on exciting stories from their home countries. Regarded as one of Asia’s top film festivals, PIFF presents around 300 films, with almost half of them being international and world premieres and up to 100 originating from Europe. In order to promote European films at this gateway to the Asian market, a record number of 31 companies from across Europe have registered at EFP’s umbrella office located at the Asian Film Market.

For the 13th year running, EFP will be supporting the presence of European films and artists in Pusan. The 26 directors and actors will present their films in person in the various festival sections. Amongst them are the Icelandic director Fridrik Thor Fridriksson talking about his film Mamma Gogo, and the German director Anne Linsel, who honours Pina Bausch in her documentary Dancing Dreams.
