Three stand-up comics seek fame and fortune in the comedy hotbed of San Francisco during the heady 1980s. Contemporaries and close colleagues of superstars Robin Williams and Dana Carvey, success seems to be just one great set away for Will Durst, Larry “Bubbles” Brown and Johnny Steele. But cut to the present day and the trio are still waiting for their big breaks. A 30-year roller-coaster ride through comedy’s boom and bust, 3 Still Standing charts the careers of three funnymen who, despite not finding success on the same scale as their famous friends, continue to live the dream making a living doing what they love. Their material and style may have evolved over the years, but the goal remains eternal: big laughs. A hilarious and moving story that proves comedy is an art form, and that comedians, like blues musicians, only get better with age.
