Hot Docs 15 – LISTEN TO ME MARLON

First Festival Screening – Sunday, April 26 @ 9:45pm

Often considered the greatest actor of his generation, Marlon Brando had a troubled relationship with both his craft and fame. Behind closed doors, he recorded over 200 hours of private audiotapes over the course of his lifetime, some for self-hypnosis and others as cathartic explorations of his views on his life and career. With highly artistic and beautiful craft, Listen to Me Marlon brings those tapes—and his voice—to life. With full cooperation of Brando’s estate and never-before-seen footage and images, the elusive star gives us insight about his life, from his trouble youth, to his support for civil and Native American rights, to his views on his iconic roles. Penetrating and enlightening, Listen to Me Marlon is a rare chance to hear the movie legend speak for himself as he takes us through his life and work with an unprecedented intimacy.
