Hot Docs is pleased to announce 16 additional documentary features that will screen in this year’s Special Presentations program. Special Presentations features a high-profile collection of world and international premieres, award winners from the recent international festival circuit and works by master filmmakers or featuring some star subjects.

Notable subjects featured as part of the Special Presentations program include the late singer and actress Whitney Houston (Whitney “Can I Be Me”), comedian and actor Gilbert Gottfried (Gilbert), and the late Jerry Garcia’s jam band The Grateful Dead (Long Strange Trip).

The program will take audiences to the city of Raqqa, where a group of citizen journalists risk their lives to expose ISIS (City of Ghosts), and to the streets of Baltimore, where a female step dancing group fight to win their high school competition, and achieve a higher education (Step).
