TORONTO | MONTREAL – The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television announces that Barry Avrich will produce the Academy’s 2016 CANADIAN SCREEN AWARDS for FRANK Content, a Toronto based production company. Avrich is well known for his successful Stratford HD series including The Tempest, King Lear, King John and Antony and Cleopatra that he produced with FRANK Content and many acclaimed documentary productions.

“The Academy’s Board and CBC undertook an extensive search process and I am delighted to say that the submission by Barry Avrich and Frank Content to produce our 2016 Canadian Screen Awards live broadcast on CBC-TV was unanimously supported,” says Academy Chair Martin Katz.

“Barry Avrich’s vast experience in both directing and producing compelling entertainment programming and his creativity staging engaging live shows with unique viewer experiences is invaluable.”

Avrich has previously produced and directed many large scale television and film productions including the recent Stratford Festival Hd series, Women Who Act (HBO Canada), Bowfire Concert Special (PBS) and many acclaimed documentaries.
