New York City, NYFuture of StoryTelling has today announced open submissions for the second annual FoST Prize, presented by Time Warner. The FoST Prize invites the world’s most innovative and adventurous digital story creators to submit their interactive work, which may include, but is not limited to, web-based films, data-driven art, mobile apps, narrative games, multimedia installations, augmented reality experiences, virtual reality, and other multiplatform projects. A $10,000.00 cash prize will be awarded to the winning submission.

Charlie Melcher, Founder and Director of Future of StoryTelling, said, “The fundamental ways that we’ve told stories have gone unchanged for centuries, but today we are experiencing a paradigm shift just as profound as that from orality to literacy. With this shift has come the birth of an entirely new art form, evolving at lightning speed. This is the space, which the FoST Prize aims to explore and elevate. Lucky are we to be alive today to be able to employ our skills to this great challenge.”

Lisa Garcia Quiroz, SVP, Cultural Investments, Time Warner Inc. said, “Encouraging those who harness technology to create innovative and meaningful stories helps further the possibilities of where storytelling is headed in the future. Time Warner could not be more pleased to show continued support to the prestigious FoST Prize for the second year in a row.”
