JANIS: LITTLE GIRL BLUE AT THE BLOOR HOT DOCS CINEMA FEBRUARY 5-15 A TRIBUTE TO A ROCK AND ROLL ICON

TORONTO – The Bloor Hot Docs Cinema is pleased to host a limited theatrical engagement of JANIS: LITTLE GIRL BLUE An official selection at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival, JANIS: LITTLE GIRL BLUE screens February 5 to 17, select times, at the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema, 506 Bloor Street West.

Janis Joplin is one of the most revered rock and roll singers of all time: a tragic, ferocious and oft-misunderstood figure who irrevocably changed the music scene before her death in 1971 at age 27. Academy Award®-nominated director Amy Berg (DELIVER US FROM EVIL) examines Joplin’s story on film for the first time, presenting an intimate portrait of a complicated, driven and often beleaguered artist. With wonderful archival footage and contemporary interviews alongside personal correspondence read aloud by musician Cat Power, JANIS: LITTLE BLUE GIRL offers new understanding of a bright, complex woman whose surprising rise and sudden demise changed music forever.

Please visit Bloor Hot Docs Cinema for exact screening times and more of the film. Co-presented by Sonic Boom.
