Toronto — On the heels of a successful 40th Toronto International Film Festival®, TIFF announces the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors: long-time supporters Betty-Ann Heggie, Sabi Marwah and Francis Shen.

“Betty-Ann, Sabi and Francis’ vast experience in a variety of different industries will be a huge asset to us — they are a great addition to our already fantastic team of Board members,” said Lisa de Wilde, Chair, Board of Directors, TIFF. “They have all held top roles in various organizations, and their unique experiences combined with their passion for film and the arts will help TIFF achieve its goal of becoming a global centre for film culture.”

With these new appointments comes the retirement of three Board members. Stepping down from the Board are Brendan Calder, Linda Chu and David Kassie.

“I join Lisa, our other Board members and all of TIFF in thanking Brendan, Linda and David for their great contributions. Without their support and guidance TIFF simply wouldn’t be the organization it is today, and we can’t thank them enough for their countless volunteer hours and efforts,” said Piers Handling, Director and CEO, TIFF.
