Family. Dysfunction. Estrangement. Broken family ties aren’t easily mended. Festival favourite and Jordan Canning’s debut feature, We Were Wolves hits cable Video on Demand on May 12, through Video Services Corp.

Estranged brothers Nick (Peter Mooney, Rookie Blue) and Danny () reunite over their father’s death and head to the family cottage to sort through his possessions. Unfortunately, that isn’t the only thing Nick and Danny have to sort through. The siblings deal with unresolved issues, accusations and betrayals as they reflect on their relationship with their father.

“Ultimately, We Were Wolves is a film about letting go of the things you can’t control and taking responsibility for the things you can,” Canning said. “Only after purging themselves of their father’s influence are they are able to acknowledge the mess they’ve made of their own lives – and begin the clean up process. We are all, finally, responsible for ourselves.”

We Were Wolves is produced by Jordan Canning, co-produced by Steve Cochrane, and executive produced by Jay Firestone (Lost Girl, XIII: The Series), Peter Mooney, Stratford Canning, Sam Pryse Phillips, and First Love Films (The Portal). Written by Steve Cochrane and Jordan Canning. Cinematography by Sam Pryse Phillips (The Tunnel, Seconds, Donnie Dumphy, Not Over Easy), editing by Jonathan Eagan (The Animal Project), with original music by Igor Correia (Oliver Bump’s Birthday, Seconds) and music supervision by David Hayman (Rookie Blue, Less Than Kind).
