Producers Lab Toronto

PRODUCERS LAB TORONTO, a new initiative created by European Film Promotion (EFP) in collaboration with the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC) and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), will launch this fall during the Toronto festival. PRODUCERS LAB TORONTO will run from September 10-12, 2010 and is aimed at facilitating and increasing international co-productions between European and Canadian producers.

The three-day event will include pitching sessions, round table meetings and case studies, where European producers and their Canadian counterparts will exchange ideas and knowledge and discuss concrete co-production opportunities between Europe and Canada. The new MEDIA International Programme of the European Union is financially supporting the initiative.

With PRODUCERS LAB TORONTO, EFP expands and builds upon its PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE platform which has been a staple of the organisation’s presence at the Cannes International Film Festival since 1999. PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE introduces emerging European producers to the international industry through a series of networking events, trade paper profiles, workshops, pitching sessions and social events. The 2010 PRODUCERS LAB TORONTO will feature twelve European producers from twelve different European countries who have previously participated in either the 2007, 2008 or 2009 editions of PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE. The twelve producers from Canada will be selected by OMDC and TIFF.
