The nominees for the Animated Com Award at the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film have been selected!

Stuttgart – Off we go in a few days: The world of animation is going to celebrate the 20th edition of the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (ITFS, April 23-28, 2013). Every year at the ITFS the best applied animation in the fields of advertising, spatial communication and technology are awarded with the Animated Com Award.

This year the Mackevision Medien Design GmbH and the Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart sponsor the prizes. Moreover, the Daimler AG donates the special prize Mercedes-Benz Classic: Silver Arrows and the U.I. Lapp GmbH endows the special prize Lapp Connected Award.

The Animated Com Award’s trendsetting concept attracts more and more top-class productions in these fields every year. The jury has chosen ten high-class animated films out of 120 submissions for this year’s short list.

The selection shows the diversity of applied animation. The range includes spots for Red Bull showing Felix Baumgartner’s phenomenal jump into the stratosphere, the science fiction computer game Mass Effect 3 – Take Earth Back and the trailers for the Olympic Games in London, the European MTV Music Awards and the Pictoplasma Festival. It also includes new and innovative concepts in the field of spatial communication, such as the Swiss Pavillion at the World Exhibition 2012 in Yeousu in South Korea.

The exclusive gala for the awarding ceremony of the Animated Com Award will take place in the spectacular premises of the Mercedes-Benz Museum on Friday, April 26, 2013.

This year the Daimler AG, U.I. Lapp GmbH, Mackevision Medien Design GmbH, the Art Directors Club Deutschland (ADC), the Virtual Dimension Center, Silkroad, Ilg Außenwerbung GmbH, ZDF Werbefernsehen GmbH, jazzopen Stuttgart, netzwerk P Produktion GmbH and the Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart are the partners of the Animated Com Award.
