THE SUICIDE THEORY Wins Grand Jury Award @ Dances w/ Films Festival

The Suicide Theory was produced by Brown and the McCarty brothers along with Dan Macarthur and Melanie Poole with Executive Producers Darwin Brooks, Aaron McCarty and Waynne Videroni.

Brown, the McCarty brothers, and the executive producers, along with the film’s star Steve Mouzakis (I, Frankenstein; Where the Wild Things Are; Darkness Falls) all made the trip to Hollywood from Australia for World Premiere and screenwriter Michael J. Kospiah, who is based in New York, also flew in for the screening.

The awards were announced with Brown and the McCarty brothers in attendance to accept the coveted Dances With Films 2014 Grand Jury Award. The award is the top prize for a feature film at the prestigious festival, which has been a Hollywood staple for 17 years now and a gold mine for discovering independent talent. The Suicide Theory is the first foreign film to win the Grand Jury Award, according to Leslee Scallon, co-founder DWF.

“Our goal with The Suicide Theory as filmmakers was for it to open doors and land us some meetings in Los Angeles, which is has. We are honored to receive the Grand Jury Award from Dances With Films and thrilled for everybody involved with the film. The feedback from everyone who sees it has been extremely positive and the offers for distribution validate all our efforts. The Suicide Theory is our calling card, and we are thankful that people respond to the film,” said Brown, director.
