18th ANNUAL SAN DIEGO LATINO FILM FESTIVAL BRINGS THE BEST OF LATINO CINEMA TO SAN DIEGO / TIJUANA BORDER REGION

– A Celebration of over 160 international films, guest celebrities, parties, family screenings Scheduled for March 10 – 20, 2011 at UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center ~

MEDIA ARTS Center San Diego announces the arrival of the prestigious and internationally recognized San Diego Latino Film Festival, now celebrating its’ 18th edition. Over 20,000 festival attendees, 160 entertaining & award-winning movies starring such actors as Ricardo Darin, Martha Higareda, Demian Bichir, Adal Ramones, Carmen Salinas, Daniel Gimenez Cacho & more; plus, special guest celebrities, recognized filmmakers, industry professionals, artists, and musicians for all ages and tastes will gather from March 10 – 20, 2011 at the UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas Hazard Center (just steps from San Diego Trolley’s Hazard Center Station).

A few of the feature films to be screened at the 11-day 18th Annual San Diego Latino Film Festival include: EL ATENTADO starring Daniel Gimenez Cacho, FLAMENCO, FLAMENCO directed by Carlos Saura, RUNWAY starring Demian Bichir, CHICOGRANDE starring Demian Alcazar, REVOLUCION starring Adriana Barraza, CARANCHO starring Ricardo Darin, MARTIN AL AMANECER starring Adal Ramones, TE PRESENTO A LAURA starring Martha Higareda, REVOLUCION co-directed by Gael Garcia Bernal & Diego Luna, and many more. As in every year, SDLFF is much more than just film screenings. SDLFF 2011 will include live appearances by Nickelodeon’s famous TV characters – Dora the Explorer and Diego; plus special showcases of Jewish Latino Cinema, Documania, Cine’Mation, Brazilian Cinema,Free Student Screenings; Tributes, Workshops; parties, live musical performances, Para la Familia events, and much more.

New tickets are $10.00, for general audience, and $8.00 for Students, Seniors, Military & MEDIA ARTS CENTER SAN DIEGO Members (ID required). 2011 Film or Festival Passes are also available. Film Pass is $90, which includes entrance to 11 films, no waiting in lines and VIP seating and the Festival Pass, which is $180 and includes OVER 100 programs, no waiting in lines, VIP seating, 4 workshops, 1 year FREE MEDIA ARTS CENTER SAN DIEGO Amigo membership, and entrance into all Festival Galas.
