Our Napa Valley Film Festival serves the interests and needs of independent filmmakers: connecting artist with audience, exhibiting and promoting new films and filmmaking talent, and nurturing a creative community with mutually rewarding relationships that last well beyond each year’s festival.
At each year’s festival, we program new independent films, world cinema, and a select number of prestigious studio films just prior to their theatrical release. The program will always include narrative features and shorts, documentary features and short subjects, a survey of top foreign films (world cinema), and shorts made by aspiring Napa Valley filmmakers in local student filmmaking programs.
We curate for quality, not quantity. The program will likely include 30-35 feature-length films, and 40-50 short films (this compares with hundreds of films shown at other festivals… and is comparable to one of our role models, the acclaimed Telluride Film Festival). We aren’t looking for any particular theme; rather, we’re looking for the BEST movies that can entertain, inspire, provoke discussion and conversation, intrigue, educate, and enlighten our discriminating audience. Bring it on!
Napa Valley is a world-class destination sought out by leaders in entertainment, media, technology, venture capital, and of course food, wine and hospitality. If your film is selected, we will expect you to attend and present your film to the thousands of film lovers who live in and/or are visiting our magical Napa Valley.
And YOU can expect first-rate hospitality, networking events, wonderful wine and food, appreciative audiences, awards programs, and the opportunity to explore the most celebrated wine country in the country.
