As announced earlier this week, after six successful seasons, Sean Farnel is taking leave of his post as Hot Docs’ director of programming. With sharp insight and a deep passion for film, Sean led a remarkable programming team that year after year brought the world’s best films to Toronto audiences.

Sean’s considerable skill helped to establish the Hot Docs’ international reputation for programming excellence and aided the Festival’s incredible growth. A tireless advocate for documentary film, he won a following among public and industry audiences alike. His contributions to the team will be sorely missed, and he is wished well on his future endeavors.
