Eighteen-year-old Emilie moves back home with her mom and step-siblings after living in foster care for several years. All That I Am follows Emilie over two years, as she moves into her first apartment and testifies against her stepfather in a compensation case. This sensitive and patient documentary gives vast emotional insight into her victories and setbacks and relates abuse through the everyday therapeutic solutions that make her feel safe—her comfort animal, restraining order and roommate.
