JuntoBox Films, a collaborative film studio for filmmakers and fans co-chaired by Forest Whitaker, announced the kickoff of the JuntoBox Feature Film Incubator, an in-depth story development and production readiness program for narrative feature film projects that can be produced for $2.5 million or less.

“We created the JuntoBox Feature Film Incubator as an extension of our belief in the democratization of the filmmaking process by harnessing a more collaborative and hands-on approach to developing and producing independent features films,” stated Forest Whitaker, co-chairman of JuntoBox Films.

The JuntoBox Feature Film Incubator is a program designed to accelerate the development of film projects via group workshops as well as one-on-one meetings with industry professionals including story analysts, casting directors, and line producers. Eight to ten projects will be chosen, and filmmakers will work directly with these industry experts to bring each participating project to a high degree of production readiness. At the end of the program, JuntoBox Films executives will greenlight at least one project to be financed and produced in the Spring of 2015. The JuntoBox Feature Film Incubator is open to writers, directors, and/or producers who hold the contractual rights to a feature-length screenplay of any genre. The three month program will kick off in September of this year. JuntoBox Films will be accepting submissions from June 16 – June 27.
