Cameras will roll on White Pine Pictures’ newest pilot Cracked October 11, 2011.

Greenlit by the CBC this spring, the show stars David Sutcliffe (Gilmore Girls, Private Practice) as Detective Aidan Black with Stefanie von Pfetten (NCIS, Battlestar Galactica) as psychologist Daniella Olsen. This character-driven procedural follows teams of cops and psychiatric professionals who make up the Psych Crimes and Crisis unit.

“David and Stefanie bring a warmth, intelligence and wit to these characters who are thrust into a dark and heartbreaking world. They are literally the light shining through the cracks.” says writer, Tracey Forbes.

Created by Forbes and Toronto Emergency Task Force officer Calum de Hartog, the psychological crime drama follows on the heels of White Pine’s successful series The Border which ran for 3 seasons on CBC.

“We are delighted to be producing a new drama series for CBC that puts a human face on the challenges facing our police and medical professionals as they delve into the world of the emotionally disturbed.” says Peter Raymont, White Pine’s President.

The pilot will be directed by Tim Southam (Bones, House) and was written by Tracey Forbes (Flashpoint, The Bridge). Former CBC Head of Drama, Susan Morgan and Calum de Hartog are producing, Forbes, Raymont and Janice Dawe are Executive Producers.
