Good Ol’ Freda Opens @ the Bloor Hot Docs Sept 20

from vkpr

In Good Ol’ Freda, Freda tells her stories for the first time in 50 years. One of few films with the support of the living Beatles and featuring original Beatles music, the film offers an insider perspective on the beloved band that changed the music industry. Over the last fifty years, Freda has had many offers to tell her story, but this is the first time she has agreed. With the birth of her only grandson, Freda realized the importance of passing on the testimony of her life’s work. Hers is a unique angle on a significant part of music and cultural history, one that will not be told again.

Ryan White is the producer/director of Pelada, an award-winning documentary about a journey around the world to 25 countries told through the lens of pick-up soccer. Schwarzenegger, a behind-the-scenes look at the high-profile case currently before the U.S. Supreme Court that is poised to be the first federal ruling on same-sex marriage. Previously, White had a longstanding collaboration with eight-time Emmy winner Sherry Jones. His screen credits include: Capitol Crimes (Bill Moyers, PBS); Dead Wrong: Inside an Intelligence Meltdown(CNN); 9/11: For the Record (Bill Moyers, PBS); and Country Boys (Frontline, PBS).
