Hot Docs is expanding to a second cinema. One of the largest documentary festivals in the world, Hot Docs re-opened the 727-seat Bloor Cinema last year and will be adding a second screen in the same building, an old vaudeville theatre. Hot Docs will renovate the five-storey “fly tower” located behind its main screen into a 50-seat digital cinema. Full details will be announced. The current cinema re-opened last March and hosts regular screenings of documentaries and non-documentary films as well as Hot Docs itself.
