MOVIES WITH A MESSAGE

The International Family Film Festival (IFFF) has proudly partnered with Happy House’s Good Choices Program to showcase the Finalist Films at the 2011 IFFF Youth Fest in March. The contest is open to filmmakers 6-14 years of age and has a special category for films produced by a whole family.

Entering the contest is easy. There are two age brackets for the winners, 6-10 and 11-14. The films should be 2-5 minutes in length. You can choose from one of the following themes:

· Bullying or being mean to others

· Taking care of yourself

· Respecting other people, property, family and/or community

The rules are identical to the IFFF: no profanity, violence or sexual behavior.

Six prizes will be given in both age categories. There are awesome prizes: spending a day in Hollywood with Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson), a free Hollywood Film Camp in the summer of 2011, a tour of a Hollywood animation studio with a chance to attend a taping of a show. These are just some of the prizes. To see all of the categories and all of the awards go to the website and read all about it. The winners will be announced on March 19, 2011 during the Youth Fest at IFFF. Finalists will be contacted by January 26, 2011. So go to the website, get our family involved, make a film, submit it to the festival and we’ll see you in Hollywood (fingers crossed!).
