Champak Bansal (Irrfan Khan) leads a comfortable life as a small-town owner of a sweet shop. When his teenage daughter Tarika (Radhika Madan) expresses her ambition to graduate from a recognized London university, Champak is desperate to fulfill her aspirations. In hopes of Tarika escaping their simple world, Champak’s world quickly spirals out of control as he attempts to send his daughter abroad. In one of his final roles, Irrfan Khan stars in this comedic follow-up to the acclaimed Hindi Medium.

He followed the film with the commercially successful Hindi-language romantic comedy Cocktail (2012), as well as Finding Fanny (2014).
